To round of my week of coverage from the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show I thought I’d leave you with a few more snippets of inspiration from around the show.

It really is such a huge flower show with SO much to see that I couldn’t possibly show you everything.  But I hope the photos I’ve shared with you have provided a bit of inspiration for your own garden.

Most of today’s pictures feature some of the planting around the show – sometimes I get so caught up in the hard landscaping and structure of the gardens that I forget to mention the plants and how important they are to the overall look and feel of a space.

Planting can be challenging to get right.  In the UK climate we’re very lucky to be able to grow so many different plants, but this provides a challenge too as sometimes there’s simply too many to choose from.

There was quite a bit of orange and deep burgundy at the show this year.  I love orange in the garden, such a warm and vibrant colour in the grey light.

And there were a lot of grasses all over the show – so brilliant for softening the hard landscaping of any garden and bringing movement even in the slightest breeze, I love them!

The Hilliers exhibit in the Floral Marquee is always a highlight of The Chelsea Flower Show.  All the other exhibits are amazing too, but this one is very much at the heart of it. Read more

I met up with Claire Brown of PlantPassion yesterday and, as it was the first day of the RHS Wisley Flower Show, we decided it was as good a place as any to meet up.  Claire has recently launched a new arm to her business growing English cut flowers at her flower farm in Clandon, Surrey so it was great to catch up. Easter holidays are often a great time to be outdoors with the family.  It would be great if it warmed up a bit here in the UK, but even if this cold snap continues to linger, it’s still worth getting outside in the fresh air. Read more

Last Friday I visited Cardiff Flower Show for the first time with my friend Rona Wheeldon of Flowerona. The first thing that struck us was how friendly everyone was there – it had a local show feel to it and as well as the show gardens, floral marquee and show exhibitors that you see at all the RHS shows, there was also a craft market.
