Five Christmas gift ideas for garden makers
0 Written by Lisa on 4th Dec 2012 in Inspiration, PlantsFinding the right Christmas gift for people can sometimes be a challenge so I thought I’d give you a few ideas of gifts for people who appreciate their garden…
Stylish accessories by Sophie Conran
I featured a full post of these garden accessories on the HeartHome blog last week, but I love the bird and insect houses so wanted to mention them again here…just in case you didn’t see them.
Actually, I love all the hand tools Sophie has designed too – I would certainly be happy if I unwrapped any of them.
Heart bird feeder and decorative bell by Cox & Cox
I love browsing through the Cox & Cox catalogue and they now have a wonderful range of garden accessories. I particularly love the decorative bell and heart-shaped bird feeder. Both cost under £15 each.
A Tree or Shrub
I often buy plants for people as gifts, especially if they are keen gardeners. When my parents first moved down to Somerset, we brought them a walnut tree.
Shrubs make good presents too – why not think of something that will be in flower at Christmas like Sarcococca confusa (Christmas Box) which has amazing scented flowers. Or you could go for something more festive like Holly (Ilex aquifolium).
A Name-sake Rose
There are hundreds of rose varieties out there and I’m sure there’ll be a rose with a name that is completely appropriate for the person you are buying it for…..everyone loves roses don’t they!? David Austin have a wide range of thornless roses if you’re not very keen on the prickles.
Design Your Own Garden workshop with me
Sorry, I couldn’t resist it! A slightly more expensive gift but if you know someone who’s new to gardening or loves to garden and wants to know a bit more about getting the design right, why not club together with some friends or family and buy them a place on my course.
My next workshop is running at The Decor Cafe on 28th January so they wouldn’t have long to wait.
